The visit explores the spectacular structures of the Flavian Amphitheater, the parts that allowed the monument to stage what were not only hunts for ferocious animals, naval battles and gladiator fights, but real shows with surprising “special effects”, which contributed, together with its perfect and grandiose architecture, to consecrate its fame and popularity. During the virtual visit it will be possible to explore the underground rooms and understand how the system of hoists, ramps and cages that were used to bring up animals, gladiators and scenographic machinery worked. It will also be shown how this system was complementary to the plateau of the arena, whose structure and ancient use will be described.
