The section dedicated to Magna Graecia of the Archaeological Museum of Naples offers the unique opportunity of a meeting with the Greek peoples, settlers in the West, and the Italic populations. Great themes run through the rooms in this section: cults, funeral customs, architecture, luxury goods and the aristocratic banquet. The virtual exploration of this section offers the reading keys of a particular collection, testimony of the contact between peoples. The visit is a journey, with stops in the most important centers of the South, without neglecting the history of archaeological research and its protagonists, who have given us extraordinary testimonies: from the tombs of Pithecussa to the excavations of Cuma, from the classical sanctuaries of Poseidonia, Taranto and Locri to the magnificent IV century hypogea. b.C., to the painted tombs. A fluid story to understand the history of Magna Graecia and the legendary events of those who investigated southern Italy at the turn of two centuries.
